| | In Vitro Lipoxygenase (LOX) Inhibitory Assay |
| Description: | All the newly synthesized compounds were also evaluated in vitro for their ability to inhibit lipoxygenase enzyme. This was carried out using Abnova lipoxygenase inhibitor screening assay kit (Catalog No. (KA1329). Inhibitors were dissolved in DMSO and were added to the assay in a final volume of 10 μl before initiating with substrate. Three concentrations were prepared (25, 50 and 100 μM) and the concentration that produced 50% enzyme inhibition was determined according to manufacturer instructions [Plačkov et al., Free Radic. Biol. Med., 97:223-235]. |
