| Description: | The compounds described herein have been shown to be positive allosteric modulators of the mGluR2 receptor using a [35S]-GTPγS binding assay as described in PCT international publication number WO 2008/150233 A1. The mGluR2 receptor is expressed exclusively in the synapse of the brain. Activation of this receptor results in the inhibition of the release of glutamate by the presynaptic neuron. Thus, activation of this receptor inhibits glutamate release into the synapse. The EC50 values for mGluR2, taken from WO 2008/150233 A1. |
