| Description: | Wheat Germ Agglutinin derivatized SPA beads containing a scintillant (WGA beads) (Amersham) bound the membranes of BHK cells transfected with the human glucagon receptor. 125I-glucagon bound to the receptor in the membranes and excited the scintillant in the WGA beads to light emission. Test compound binding to the receptor competed with 125I-glucagon. The binding assay was carried out in opti plates (Polystyrene Microplates, Packard). After incubation, the opti plates were counted in a Topcounter. |
