| Description: | A standard fluorimetric assay was used to measure influenza virus neuraminidase activity. The substrate 2 -(4-methylumbelliferyl)-alpha-D-acetylneuraminic acid is cleaved by neuraminidase to yield a fluorescent product that can be quantified. Fluorescence was quantitated in a Perkin-Elmer fluorimeter (Model LS-5B) with an excitation wavelength of 365 nm, emission wavelength of 450 nm. |
