| Description: | All ITC experiments were performed using a Microcal VP-ITC microcalorimeter (GE Healthcare). All samples were prepared in a buffer containing 20 mM HEPES (pH 7.0) and 100 mM NaCl. The syringe was filled with 0.5 mM histidine that was injected into the ITC cell containing 20 μM protein (D1, D2, or HisJ) solution at 30 °C. The heat of dilution was measured separately by injecting titrant into the ITC buffer and was shown to be negligible. |
