| Description: | The ability of the tested compounds to inhibit both isozymes, COX-1 and COX-2 was measured using colorimetric COX (ovine) Inhibitor Screening Assay Kit (Kit catalog number 760111, Cayman Chemical, Ann Arbor, MI, USA) following the manufacturer's instructions and as reported before. Different concentrations of either celecoxib or tested compounds were incubated with the enzymes for a period of 5 min at 25 °C. After the incubation period the colorimetric substrate and arachidonic acid were added after that the absorbance was measured at 590 nm using plate reader. |
